Remains of century-old buildings, Huge, majestic Portugal ships, ancient museums, displays of canons and guns and statues of forgotten soldiers, is there anything else that are visible enough to remind Malaysian folks of the famous historical city, Melaka?
Well, there is.
I haven't mentioned to you about a local Hainanese delicacy there, where people from as far as Kedah, Sarawak, or even Sabah, will flock to Melaka, not only to appreciate historical value, but also to sink their teeth mercilessly into their one-and-only Chicken Rice Balls!
Yes, the smell these scrumptious little things are just tempting enough to put anyone over the edge. The rice balls are about the size of golf-balls and are best taken with pounded chili sauce.
There are many stalls there selling the same thing because of heavy competition. But I guess the most famous stall of all is the Famosa Chicken Rice Ball Restaurant. Famosa chicken rice-ball restaurant specialises in serving these tantalising and mouth-watering rice-balls. Using traditional Hainanese chicken rice recipe, these delicious rich-balls are served with the tender and juicy chicken meat from Bukit Mertajam, which is well-known for its free-range chicken. The chicken meat is as tender as the "kampung chicken" normally found free-roaming in villages.

If you have a hard time finding the stall, don't fret, for the popular restaurant now has many branches in Melaka. One is the original one along Jonker Street, another is along Jalan Bendahara.
Still having trouble finding? Then head towards Jaya Jusco, Makhota Parade Shopping Complex (1st floor) or even Tesco Hypermarket (Selera FoodCourt) to continue your search while shopping.

wonder whose pic is that...
by seeing the texture of the rice balls i can completely deduce with full confidence that those rice balls are not made from the fourty-something year old riceball maker from restoran famosa. Well, these pictures were not from that Famosa. =/
sorry guys, poor girl with no camera here.. need to take from other websites.
I edited the post and added some references to where I took the pictures from. Hope that appeases you somewhat.
I went to Malacca sometime back, and tried it b4.. very very nice!! I like the 'lok lok' in Malacca too! (don't know if my spelling is right)
ohh the "steamboat satay". hmm. I tried it once before but it didn't turn out as nice though, hehe anyway since it's also very popular, maybe I'll consider writing about it. Thanks Kev.
