Kemaman Hai Peng Delights

Two things were on my mind as I drove my family to a town in Terengganu called Kemaman one holiday: ICE-COFFEE and NASI DAGANG! Why? Because they are so tasty you would cry not to visit the shop, especially when you have to travel all the way from Kuala Lumpur.

Located along Jalan Sulaiman, Kemaman, Hai Peng coffee shop was established since 1940. The moment you step there, you will awe to see the shop filled with dozens of people. Just to explain how popular the shop is, you could even see more and more people coming in, and most of them are willing to wait for a seat just to enjoy their meals there.

Their home-made ice-coffee is brewed and then poured hot into a cup, where ice is added, and then the coffee is poured into another plastic cup, with later on sealed at the top. Quite a unique way of serving their coffee, eh? The shop has a round table in the middle selling all kinds of food include packets of friend mee, fried mee hoon, nyonya kueh, nasi lemak, tapai, and the all-so-delicious nasi dagang! There will be a pot of fish gravy on the table too, where customers can scoop the fish gravy into a bowl, and mix with the nasi dagang to get the excellent taste.

The shop is famous for its toasted bread with kaya too! It goes really smoothly with the ice-coffee. Once I go there, I can order 2 cups of ice-coffee, 2 toast bread, and 3 packets of nasi dagang! Unhealthy, I know, but heck! It's worth it!

Another delicious post to get you into a hungry mood. Brought to you by imalaysian.com. We share, we care.
